Here's some photos of guitars finished in the wood Spring 2024. As I've said before I love stringing the guitars up in the wood, that is before the polish is applied. I love it because I get to hear the guitar's sound without the polish, it has a different quality, softer and woodier; I like that I can evaluate the instrument and find out what I've got. Also I can tweak the neck profile if it needs it, it's one thing to feel the neck without strings but another thing completely to actually play the guitar and feel how the shape of the neck fits the hand showing me any changes I need to make.
Interestingly these guitars all have different scale lengths, 650, 645 & 640mm.
Three guitars. From left to right, ES 650mm European spruce with Indian rosewood,
RE 645mm Wester red cedar with Indian rosewood and finally an ES 640mm European spruce with Amazon rosewood.
ES 650 European spruce with Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard, head plate and bindings and a triangle themed rosette. The bridge is made using Indian rosewood.
RE 645mm Cedar with Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard, head plate and bindings and a spinning motif rosette using boxwood and ebony. The Bridge is Madagascan rosewood. The RE has the 20th half fret inlayed using carbon fibre.
640mm European spruce soundboard with Amazon rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard with ebony bindings and head plate. The rosette is triangles of mahogany and ebony and a Madagascan rosewood bridge.
The Amazon rosewood back with the sapwood centre and the beautiful colours of the rosewood.
