St Cecilia's Museum

A great day spent with students from Glasgow Clyde College, inspecting and measuring key instruments from the collection. St Cecilia's instrument collection in the heart of Edinburgh is beautiful, well worth a visit if you're interested in historic musical instruments.

Thanks to Jenny (Curator) and Jonathan (Restorer) for facilitating our visit.

Students documenting and measuring details of the chosen instruments. Early Martin guitars, lutes, a Josef Pages fan strutted guitar from 1813, Manuel Ramirez from 1914, a Fender telecaster, Panormo, Lacote, a cittern, a beautiful harp and more.

The highlights for me were the unbelievable lightness of the Ramirez and the beautiful craftsmenship of the Pages, inside aswell as out!
