Fingerboard Radius

Do you like a radiused fingerboard? How much radius? These are questions there is no correct answer to; it's simply down to personal preference. It is often this level of detail that prompts a customer to commission a guitar, particularly if their needs fall out with the norm, whatever the norm is.

Myself, I like a radiused fingerboard. I plane this into the board according to each string; the first consideration is to the string action, this is achieved at the same time as the radius is created; both evolving to give a comfortable fretboard.

At the first fret the camber is very subtle.
